Vox Femina women’s choir

The Sunday before election day, I had my debut with the acclaimed Vox Femina Los Angeles, a progressive choir of women, femmes, and gender-expansive folks. We sang pieces centered around women’s suffrage, and it was truly a powerful day. Find me in the background! I sing both alto 1 and soprano 2 parts for thisContinue reading “Vox Femina women’s choir”

Training update: motion capture and promos

I took two classes recently I got a lot out of. It is so energizing to be in an environment with others eager to learn and lay it all on the line. I took my third class with Mocap Vaults, Heroes and Monsters 2, and it was a blistering, expansive challenge! Grateful to learn fromContinue reading “Training update: motion capture and promos”

MoCap Vaults: Heroes and Monsters 1

Continuing through the curriculum of MoCap Vaults, my latest class is Heroes & Monsters 1. What a day, learning how to move, emote, and live as creatures, as animals, as heroes, as monsters. Growing up as a theatre actor, as much as I love voice-over, I’ve missed having physicality be a larger part of myContinue reading “MoCap Vaults: Heroes and Monsters 1”

Stunts intensive – JAM

Wow, where to even start with the Joining All Movement Fighting for Film intensive. Five days of working on kicks, punches, rolls, falls, and choreo, with some of the best of the best. The amount of talent teaching us was astronomical. I’ve focused a great deal on bolstering my stunts, action, fighting, and weapons trainingContinue reading “Stunts intensive – JAM”

Swords and Lightsabers – Minds Eye Tribe

I took Swords 1 with Terence “T.J.” Rotolo through Minds Eye Tribe, and then the Jedi 7 (7 combat styles of the Star Wars Universe) with TJ Storm and Terence Rotolo, also through Minds Eye Tribe. I have such a strong foundation now, and will continue training and working out! The instruction was top-notch, andContinue reading “Swords and Lightsabers – Minds Eye Tribe”

Stunts: wire work

This was a new one for me: wires! This was also my first experience with Action Planet LA. It was a great time to get some experience in both a jerk harness, as well as a Hong Kong harness. Similar–but different!–from climbing, for sure. Can’t wait to get on the wires again.

Tom Keegan – weekend acting intensive

I had the great fortune of doing a three-day intensive (10 am – 7 pm every day!) with the great Tom Keegan. It really reignited my “Actor flame”–what a great reinvigoration of fundamentals I learned as an actual child. Really wonderful to explore them afresh as an adult. It’s hard to find the words toContinue reading “Tom Keegan – weekend acting intensive”

Clowning!

Over the course of seven weeks, I studied the art of jester at The Clown School. I loved clowns as a kid, and I’ve worked as a clown for a gig here or there, but had never really studied it in a targeted way. David Bridel is simply a wonder. Both the founder of theContinue reading “Clowning!”

I entered… the MoCap Vaults

A long time coming, I took the intro class through The Mocap Vaults with legendary performer Richard Dorton. Performance capture is something I’m focusing on in 2024, and this was a great launchpad. I can’t wait to get moving in the volume! Watch my pcap page this year for more movement and experience to fill in.
