Casting & Directing

I have a lifetime of experience in a multitude of roles in entertainment, which helps me not only work well with actors and engineers, but also project-manage, problem-solve, know when to flag issues, and ultimately deliver a magnificent product. The bulk of my experience as a voice director is in dubbing, however I also have experience directing interactive content, as well as coordinating and directing a loop group.

The talent I direct frequently comment how at-ease and safe they feel in my booth, because I understand what it is to stand in their shoes. This is part of how we craft amazing performances together.

My most recent release, In Love and Deep Water / クレージクルーズ (Netflix) is a Japanese Knives Out-style murder mystery romance. It was a privilege to use my unique background in adapting, casting, and directing this project, to bring this story to a new audience.

Keys to the Heart (Netflix) is a live action Filipino story of family, featuring an estranged son who reunites with his mother and finds out that he has an autistic younger brother. I worked closely with casting director Natalie Avital to ensure authentic representation by an actor on the spectrum.

I both cast and directed two seasons of Shadow Detective (Hulu), a gripping live action Korean detective mystery. It delves into themes of aging, or work burnout, and of confronting one’s demons.

I take my responsibility as a voice and casting director very seriously in today’s world, and especially when working on projects from overseas. I am committed to diverse casting (ethnic and cultural background, disability, gender expression, neurodivergence, etc.), bringing in new talent, and being an ally to my casts and teams. My degree in Japanese Studies, and experience living abroad, has also honed my abilities of understanding other cultures.
